About Argonaut Planet:
This is a blog created by Tim (graphs) and Erika Maher (writing) as an outlet for all our ideas regarding environmental issues such as:
Climate change
Climate change communications and c.c. in the media
Public perception of environmental issues
Sustainable development
Ecosystem conservation
International issues including cross-national environmental challenges and projects
Environmental/Social justice
Environmental Economics & Policy
etc.
More importantly though, we really wanted to create a forum for others like ourselves who are interested in these issues…we want to talk to people! Please leave us feedback. We feel like the best way to enact change is to learn and educate!
About us:
We have recently moved just north of New York City (August 2011). Previously, we lived in Portland, OR for two years, and before that, St. Louis, MO (Tim’s home town). We are happy to be in the beautiful Hudson Valley!
Tim’s undergrad background is in Astrophysics and Mathematics, while Erika’s is in Cultural Anthropology.
Erika has a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies: Climate Change and Chinese Media, while Tim is attending Bard College’s Center for Environmental Policy for a Master’s in Climate Science and Policy.
